Used Baldwin R 5’8″ Parlor Grand Piano
Baldwin was making some of the greatest American pianos of all time when this piano was produced. They were the #1 piano maker in America at that time and this was their top of the line Professional Artist Series grand piano. The Professional Grand Series of Baldwin was Steinway & Sons main competitor. Today’s Baldwin pianos are made in China and has nothing in common with the American made Baldwin Grands.
Baldwin was known for having a powerful bass that belies the size of the piano. The accu-just hitch pins (co-designed with Bechstein which Baldwin owned at the time) offer an incredibly singing treble by optimizing the downbearing – a unique feature of higher end Baldwin pianos.
