Schimmel 178 5’10” Grand Piano
Parlor Grand Piano was built in Germany at the height of the family managed and owned company [See: 1989 signature on plate]. Schimmel has been described as “the most highly awarded German piano” with more than 40 awards. In 1985, the company was considered as a leading German piano manufacturer.
Built in the heart of premier pianos, like Bösendorfer, Hamburg Steinway, and Bechstein the Schimmel 178 piano is a great example of piano excellence in craftmanship and design. The tone is surprisingly light and airy. It has good solid bass response and a touch that is very responsive. With a soundboard of Bavarian spruce and Schimmel designed Renner action make this is a great sample of a classic European piano.
